Shihan Kousaku Yokota
He is our world chief instructor and teacher of our founder and director, Sensei Jose Moreno.
Kousaku Yokota, 9th dan, is a professional karateka with extensive experience in various martial arts. With almost sixty years of training in Shotokan karate, he specializes in Asai Ryu Bujutsu karate. His wide range of experience includes training in kobudo (nanasetsuben and nunchaku), in the art of ki and in the breathing method of Nishino Ryu Kikojutsu. He was a member of the JKA for forty years and then became a member of the JKS and was there for seven years. In 2013, he founded his organization, the ASAI (Asai Shotokan Association International) in honor of Master Tetsuhiko Asai. The shihan Yokota travels around the world to share the knowledge and techniques of Asai Ryu karate. Yokota is also a famous author who has published five books: Shotokan Myths (English, French and Portuguese), Shotokan Mysteries, Shotokan Transcendence, Karatedo Paradigm Shift and Karatedo Quantum Leap (all available from Amazon Books)
Sensei Jose Moreno
Jose Moreno, 4th Dan, is our director and founder, he has a long history in the practice and instruction of shotokan karate with more than 30 years of experience. In his career he participated in various national and international events, trained athletes for the state and national team of his country, was a member of the technical commission of the karate association of his state. In the years 2009 and 2011 he was the official coach of the Venezuelan national team for the WSKF karate world championship in Tokyo Japan, in those events he managed to take his country to 1st and 2nd place. He is currently a student of the Shihan Kousako Yokota who teaches him and advises him on the path of this noble martial art. He is an active member of Asai Shotokan Asociation International with an official license as a class C examiner in ASAI RYU KARATEDO. He is also an ISSA certified personal trainer and specialist in Functional Training, Agility Training, Kettle Bell Training, Battle Ropes, speed, agility and strength training.
